Composition Each 5ml contains: Sucralfate 1gm Oxetacaine 10mg
Mechanism of Action Sucralfate • Attaches to the exposed proteins on the surface of ulcers such as albumin and fibrinogen. • Forms stable insoluble complexes. • Coats the ulcer & forms the protective layer. • Prevents further injury by acid, pepsin & bile. • Binds directly with pepsin and bile salt & protects the stomach lining from injury. • Stimulates gastric bicarbonate secretion. • Promotes ulcer healing. Oxetacaine • It is a local anaesthetic of the amide type. • It produces a reversible loss of sensation by preventing or diminishing the conduction of sensory nerve impulses near the site of its application. • It decreases the permeability of the nerve cell membrane to sodium ions by membrane stabilising effect. • Relieves pain, bloating,discomfort, and fullness
Indications It is used for the symptomatic treatment of ulcer & pain in Gastric Ulcer, Duodenal Ulcer, Gastritis, G.E.R.D

Contraindications Contraindicated in patients with proven allergy to any ingredient
Special Precautions Systemic AI toxicity may occur in patients with chronic renal failure. Neonates, children; pregnancy and lactation.
Interaction Avoid antacids within 30 minutes of sucralcoat administration. May reduce absorption of tetracyclines, ranitidine, ketoconazole, theophylline, phenytoin, cimetidine & digoxin (ensure a dosing interval of at least 2 hr. between administration of sucralcoat & other non-antacid medications)
Adverse Drug Reactions Constipation, diarrhea, nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, GI disturbances, rash, pruritis, headache, vertigo, back pain & drowsiness, Nervousness, Blurred vision.
Dosage 5ml four times daily on an empty stomach, one hour before each meal and at bed time.
